I love the fact that copper has been around for thousands of years, and it still fits into our modern world. It makes a statement about design and function, value and style.
When we choose to use copper in our furnishings, it represents something about our own character and personality, whether our tastes are contemporary or traditional.
Copper is able to be shaped & formed into modern abstract designs, or hand formed- rustic creations.
It is durable and recyclable, taking on even more beauty with age.
Copper fights germs and lasts for ages without corrosion, making it the perfect material for home décor, garden accents, and even structural detail. The University of Phoenix is a good example of this.
We are contemplating an entry in CDA’s CHIC-“Copper Home Innovation Challenge”. It’s open to everyone. Deciding on a specific copper entry is the hard part.
I love our copper water feature, and the copper obelisk is a treasure in the garden. Then there is the Thunderbird coffee table that is the center of our living room. Oh dear, this may come down to the deadline of October 15.
Do you have a special use of this beautiful material in your home? Let us know in the comments below. We’d love to see how you’re living with copper.
